Will CINE PRAGUE always be a festival for films created using AI?
No. AI is an important part of CINE PRAGUE's identity, but we do not want to limit the festival exclusively to artificial intelligence in the future. The 2026 edition is dedicated to short films created with AI. For future editions, we are also preparing classic live-action short films, documentaries, and other film genres. However, we want to stay true to AI, and it will continue to be one of the key pillars of the festival.
Why is the 2026 edition dedicated specifically to AI?
Because artificial intelligence is changing the way films can be made. However, at CINE PRAGUE, we believe that technology should serve the filmmaker, not replace them. We want to showcase creators who can combine new technologies with a strong narrative, cinematic craft, and their own artistic vision.
Who decides on the winners?
The winners are selected by an international jury composed of experienced filmmakers and industry professionals. They primarily evaluate cinematic craftsmanship and artistic quality.
What do selected filmmakers gain by participating in CINE PRAGUE?
The opportunity to present their film on the big screen in Prague, meet other filmmakers and industry professionals, and compete for international jury awards and the Grand Prix.
Is CINE PRAGUE an online festival?
No. CINE PRAGUE is a live, in-person film festival. Selected films will be screened before a live audience in Prague cinemas. The festival also features filmmaker Q&As, panel discussions, and a closing gala evening with the award ceremony.
Why Prague?
Prague has an exceptionally rich film tradition and serves as a natural gathering place for both Czech and international filmmakers. CINE PRAGUE aims to bring world-class filmmaking directly into the heart of the Czech capital.
Grand Prix
Do you send the prize money to the winner via bank transfer or by mail in an envelope?
Film is about emotions, and we don't want to deprive the audience of the emotion of the Grand Prix winner. Therefore, this award will be presented to a contestant who attends in person. Finalists will be notified in advance once their film is selected for the official selection.
Can anyone attend the closing banquet with the creators?
Yes, we have a link on our website to purchase VIP tickets.
Can a non-professional join the online jury?
Yes, we welcome the general public as well. You can apply via the contact form in the Contact section.
